Stock product is available in Bathstone only although we offer other standard shades as part of our bespoke service. We can also colour match with existing stonework - allow an additional 4 weeks for colour matching and sample approval.

We offer 3 stone choices
Cast Stone
 Norman Rhead traditional Cast Stone is the ideal alternative to natural quarried stone:
- Less expensive, stronger and more water resistant
- The finish and colour are more consistent
- No restrictions on availability
- Versatile
- Suitable for replicating fine detailed objects
Cast stone can be used to simply break up large, plain areas, or it can be finely detailed for both traditional and contemporary applications, from standard ranges or from your own, bespoke design.
All our cast stone is produced to exactly the same strict specifications set down by the UK Cast Stone Association, with regular checks to ensure we continue to meet them.
It’s just one reason why Norman Rhead stone carries a 60-year guarantee for quality, durability, strength and water absorption.
In fact, it’s at least 100% stronger than the basic British Standard guidelines. And as if that’s not enough, our stone is also free from cracking and crazing.
As well as our standard Bathstone finish offered from stock we are able to colour match with existing natural or cast stonework – allow 4 weeks for colour matching and sample approval.
Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC)
 Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) has gained popularity in the construction industry because of its light weight, durability and ease of installation. GRC is up to 60% lighter than traditional cast stone reducing loads on structures when in use. GRC is also strong with a higher tensile strength allowing thinner wall sections to be produced.
The overall advantages to architects and developers are well documented:
- Quicker and easier to install than cast stone
- Upto 60% lighter than cast stone
- Reduces loadings on buildings leading to significant savings in superstructure
and foundations
- Environmentally friendly
- More robust to handling on site than traditional stone
- Doesn’t suffer from corrosion of the reinforcement
- An ideal material for use in renovation. Thin, lightweight panels are easy to fix and minimise the weight imposed on the existing structure
- Avoids the need for cranage on site

Ultralight GRP
 GRP has all the aesthetic appeal of Cast Stone yet it’s 60% lighter, so suitable for any location regardless of construction method. Combining lightweight with inherent strength, GRP provides a water resistant finish that’s as durable as traditional materials.
